About Freda S. Warrington
Freda Spector Warrington grew up in Arlington, Massachusetts and received her bachelor’s degree from Vassar College. She studied library science at Simmons, education at LSU and Tulane, and counseling at Cal State, Bakersfield. She was an editor, public school teacher, piano teacher and counselor/director of outpatient programs at a psychiatric hospital clinic. She was Executive Director of Healthy Mothers, Healthy Babies of Kern County, a project director for a federal grant, consultant to California Women’s Commission on Addictions, and President of Orange Coast Interfaith Shelter’s Friends Board. She has supervised substance abuse treatment programs both for Native Americans and for people with developmental disabilities.
